With new electronics products hitting the market almost daily, disposal of that growing stash of outdated and obsolete gadgets can be a daunting task.
Many devices, such as cellphones, computers and televisions, contain toxic materials in addition to imbedded personal information about the owner.
To ease the burden, a number of retailers have developed programs for recycling electronics products. Target, which recycles glass, plastic and aluminum in addition to small electronics, launched its program last year and reported it found the option to be a hit with consumers.
